I have a strange problem with my panasonic dmr-hs2. It can record to the hard disc, but can not to any remobable media (DVD-R or DVD-RAM).
I’ve tried with many media and always displays the message “this disk in not writable” although IT IS
When I try to format a used DVD-RAM it fails to do so and put the VCR in stand-by. Afterwards it try to recover the disc but fails time after time
Previously recorded or comercial DVDs can be played with no problem
Does anyone knows how to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance and excuse me for my poor english.

Sound like your unit is broken. After spending that kind of money, you should harry down to the dealer and get a warranty repair, or replacement.

Thanks for your answer SingSing. Unfortunately I thing the warranty period is out of date.
I was wishing for another harmless solution, but I'm afraid u're right

Just a reminder. The panasonic usa website has a new firmware available for this model. It's suppose to make media more compatilbe and maybe some other stuff. YOu might want to update this. Good luck.
