  1. all,

i'm having a spot of trouble transfering a dvd movie to vhs. i have connected the video out of my AIW 9800 to the svideo in of my panasonic, but can't seem to captue the movie.

i've also hooked the vhs player to my tv and can't see anything on the tv except when i reboot. then i see the boot-up dos screen and the initial windows logon screen. past logon, nada. just blank black screen.

any ideas people? do i need special software?

    any help would be welcome.

    cheers.

ps. don't ask why i'm "downgrading" from dvd to vhs.

Sorry but I can't help with the video out problem from your AIW but i have a suggestion for you. If the DVD is un-protected then why don't you use a scart from your DVD player to your VHS machine?
He's a liar and a murderer, and I say that with all due respect.

Have you gone into the ATI display properties and turned TV display on? Until you do that you won't get any output to you vcr except during the boot process. Once you've turned on the TV display, you'll then need to set the over clone mode settings. You want Theatre Mode, full screen and 4:3 selected.
