    Ok. i'm using Adobe Encore.

    My problem is this:

I have 3 seperate video clips both with Stereo and 5.1 audio tracks.
I need a Single Button that can switch between these two options for all 3 video clips. (the video clips are very seperate in terms of content, and should NOT follow on from one another, ie play all)

The ONLY way i could think of to do this, would be to combine the 3 video clips into 1, and have each individual button select a 'Chapter' being the start of each video clip, in the combined single one.

But the problem with that is that i cannot find a way to use a button to play a portion of 1 particular timeline and then stop and return to menu.

    Why a single button ?
Why not three seperate titles ?

The only way I can think off that is close to what you want is some form of playlist, however I don't know if encore supports playlists, and if so how to set one up in encore. You still have the problem of trying to use a single button to somehow pick between 3 different titles, each with two soundtracks ( a total of 6 combinations, if I understand your question correctly)

    Sorry..i'll make it clearer

On the Video Page 3 buttons:
    Video 1
    Video 2
    Video 3
*Each video has both a 2.0 and 5.1 audio track.

On the Sound Settings page i need 2 buttons that can switch all 3 videos to 2.0 or 5.1.
(so i do not have to have a settings page for EACH video..thats ridiculous)

I thought to simply make 1 timeline, with all 3 videos as one clip and all 3 audio as 1 audio clip and just use chapter points...(and thus just 2 sound settings buttons to switch the entire timeline between 2.0 and 5.1).....But unfortunately the client wants the user to finish one video and be returned to the menu...not flowing on one after the other.

thus if i wanted to follow that path (using chapter points and one timeline) I would have to somehow have the user return to the menu after watching the particular chapter.....but i'm not sure if this is possible

yes encore supports playlists...however playlists of 'timelines' only.

    Ok a heads up..
It seems as though it is NOT possible to have a timeline play only from say chapter 2 -3 and then return to the menu...

    so thats out...

    any other ideas?

It might not be possible in Encore, but it is possible to play a single chapter and then return to the menu. I've done it using PGCEdit, but I don't remember how at the moment. When I get a little more time I'll see if I can find my notes. I remember there was a thread a while back where someone had a concert video that he wanted to be able to either play the whole thing through, or just play a selected song and return to the menu. You might try a search for that thread...

    Rightio I've found a solution!

I just ignore changing the audio track all together and just create 6 timelines. 1 for each video both 2.0 & 5.1

Then create 2 different menus for the Video selection page. 1 with links to the 2.0 timelines and the other with links to the 5.1 timelines.

Thus when the user is on the Sound Options page...
Instead of actually changing the audio track, selection of 2.0 will take the user to the video selection page with links to the 2.0 timelines and vice-versa when they select the 5.1 button.

    should be fine!
