I've been going through the rather large DVD player list here at videohelp.com looking for a good purchase, and I keep running into names that are just SLIGHTLY different from what I see in the stores..... mainly an addition of an 'S' to the store name that doesn't show in the DVD player list here. For instance, videohelp.com has a "Panasonic DVD-S29" listed, and Wal-Mart sells two DVD players, one "Panasonic DVD-S29S" and one "Panasonic DVD-S29K"................... what is the difference? Can I expect to find the same features with Wal-Mart's 'S' and 'K' players as what videohelp shows?
I need a DVD player that is inexpensive and can play VCD/SVCDs reliably. I have no idea what to get since nothing at Wal-Mart or similar stores seems to be listed the same as what videohelp shows.
Thanks for the help.

Oh man... heh, that's funny. How about the "37" tagged at the end of Philips players?

The 37 in DVP642/37 denotes the North American version with defaults set for NTSC and menu languages in English, French & Spanish. The 37 is for machines that came out after May, 2004, as opposed to the 17.
