  1. I'm planning on buying a new Dell W1900 LCD TV. I have my PC built and have the ATI HDTV Wonder card. I was wondering if its possible to combine the card with a Motorola DCT6200 box that I am going to rent from comcast. If possible, I would like to be able to split the cable so I can get HDTV on the capture card and the TV part of the LCD TV. Am I able to do that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ATI HDTV Wonder will only tune over the air ATSC DTV and over the air analog TV.

It will also tune the analog cable channels and accept a S-Video analog input + audio from the cable box. I will not tune cable digital channels or cable HD channels.

  3. So there is no possible way to be able to record ESPN HD or HBO HD with the ati hdtv wonder and a motorola DCT6200? If not, is there any capture that can work with this to achieve what im trying to do?

  4. I realized that the ATI capture card wasn't what I was looking for so I gave that to my brother for his PC. I have been searching the internet and I can't seem to find any component video capture cards, do these exist? If not, then what are my options as far as getting off-the-air HDTV reception from a motorola cable box?

    Not that I have seen.
    Try IEEE-1394 (see links above)

  6. I just got my firewire card and I captured some HD content from ABC, it seems that ESPN HD is protected from capturing. I followed the directions from the thread that EdDV posted and converted the HD content using HDTVtoMPEG2, but when I play the converted file I don't have any audio, the video looks fine, but the audio isn't there. Am I doing something wrong?
