I found the same thing when doing my own testing of XviD and DivX with AutoGK to see which one I should use. I however like the quality of XviD anyway, and the time saving compliments that quite nicely IMO.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. So there is nothing i can do about to speed it ?
Its taking 3 hours to convert 20 minutes of mpeg 2 to +- 1000kbs insane quality.

If you want insane quality, be prepared for insane amount of time
Seriously that setting is there more for experimentation than actual use (see doom forums)
surprisingly, using avi.NET, divx takes less time to encode than xvid. To me divx is better at lower bitrates than xvid. If you are going to use 1000 kbps or more there is a case for xvid.

  5. Most of my videos are less then 1000KBPS and i like the quality of divx more than xvid, maybe im doing something wrong cos using avisinth should make the encoding faster not ? but i dont feel any difrence....
