PAL is 720 x 576. It can't be 720 x 480
CX23881 is capable to capture at 720 x 576 -
Thanks!
720X576 is the standard resolution only for PAL miniDV.
Actually if your final target is not DVD or DV you could capture PAL video with some other resolutions. My old ASUS card allows to capture PAL with 704X576, 352X572 and some others.
As to XCapture card, in the internet sites that I found it was stated that the maximum resolution for it was 720X480 even for PAL.
That was why I asked my question.
OK, if it could capture PAL with 720X576 it is great! -
CX23881 is capable to capture at 720 x 576.
A Tip:
If your XCapture card don't allow this, then use genetic CX23881 WDM drivers
720 x 576 is ths full PAL framesize.
704 x 576 is the broadcast PAL framesize.
We can capture to those framesizes with no issues. If is worth it, is another issue to discuss.
Also, seems like your card is better matched with Virtualvcr for capture through s-video / composite cables -
Ok, thanks again!
It seems like you possess the discussing device.
Are you happy with the quality of the capture?
Did you compare it with other devices that cost about the same price?
Which driver do you use? -
I tested CX23881 cards, I don't own Pixelview's XCapture card
The capture quality is excellent with this chip, far better the bt8xx one.
Cheapest cards are about 60 euros
