  1. Anyone know the answer to this? I've captured some video from a widescreen (16:9) source, but the capture device will only do 4:3, so everything is squished horizontally. I believe this is because it's actually broadcast that way, but something tells the TV to stretch it when it plays it back. I'd like to view the captured video on my PC in it's original 16:9 ratio. Is there some way I can convert the video file to re-stretch it?

    you can use a software player where you can change aspect ratio manually like mpc, zoom player.

    but if you prefer to reconvert then please give us more information, what is the captured source? wmv, avi, mpg, dvb, dv, ts?

  3. The captured source is mpg. I would like to try and convert it rather than just stretch it in a viewer.
