multi region dvd player

Hi I,m new here and I have a problem which i hope someone can help me with.
My dvd player is phillips dvp520 and I got this code from the net to make it multi region.

1. Press system menu on remote control
2. Go to preference settings
3. Press 1,3,5,5,6,6
4. Press 0
5. Press system menu on remote to exit

I tried it but nothing happens. After I've done step 3 on the screen it says "Region 2" and then I do the rest of the steps. But when I put a disc in nothing happens it just says "wrong region". What can I do?
Would appreciate any help?

Well the cheat could be in error.

If you have a computer dvd burner you can simply rip it to region free and burn it. Then it will play (as long as its pal for a pal player )

Im sorry I dont know what these terms mean. Burn, rip, pal?
Is there another way?

If you look up your player in the DVD Players section, the hack is listed there. It would appear you are doing step 4 wrong.
