The LG has SuperLink and the LiteOn has SmartBurn. Would someone who owns one (or both) tell me what these things are please?
Are they burning software that comes bundled with the hardware?

They're buffering (also called buffer under-run) technologies built into the drives that prevent errors during burning. Basically, when you're burning a CD, and the computer can't supply the data to the burner fast enough, the burner stops and the disc is ruined. The bufferring technology will pause the CD burner if the data stream from the PC is interrupted, so you don't get bad burns.

Go to Google yourself, and type in the word 'SuperLink' or 'SmartBurn.' You can click on pages after pages and not know what it means, because all it is going to show you are commercial sites that are selling the products.
Go to their (LG and LiteOn's) official site, it doesn't mention what it is either. It's not even listed in the FAQs.
If you know the answer, you could have just given it straight out. If you didn't know the answer, you should not have replied at all. Don't you have better things to do than doing meaningless promotion for ads?
If you have no experience or knowledge on something, you should not reply.
Do you go around posting this same message to people who asks for help they were not able to find themselves?

If you had put into most any search engine, 'Burnsmart for a DVD burner' or 'Superlink for a DVD burner'. you would have found your answer easily. Maybe you should figure out how to use a search engine better. Those are proprietary names.
You have to dig a little deeper. You aren't making any points here by flaming regulars that have helped many people like Sifaga. Just my opinion. Do what you want. -

Instead of just saying "do a google search" why don't you just say "I don't know the answer" or "I don't want to be bothered" (Sarcasm)
This is a help forum, A place to get help. This is www.videohelp.com isn't it?
If you know the answer post it, if not don't bother. Easy as that.
wuya is right, you can go through alot of webpages before you find exactly what you are looking for. Some people don't have the time or the luxury for that. Also if you are learning about a new subject, it makes it that much more difficult.
Forum Troll did the right thing, good job. -
google is a valid answer
what about , i googled for this and still dont understand
why do you say that theres too many pages in google to go through, its very rare not to find the answer on the first page.
if you need tips on how to search, start a new post
why do people come here and expect every one else to do their research for them, while doing the research you learn other things
i would rather help someone who has made an effort and dosnt have a bad attitude
no biggie,
you contribute to the site the way you want and i the way i want.
EDIT: i just notice with 9 posts you havnt contributed anything to the forum, and in one post you only thank the person who gave you the solution that helped you, ungrateful. -

I know I wasn't the only kid who asked their parents a question and got the 'look it up' answer. It's not that they didn't know, they just wanted me to learn how to research things on my own instead of always taking the easy way out and asking them for an answer.
Disclaimer: by no means am I saying people shouldn't ask questions, but you'll normally get more help when people see that you're willing to help yourself first.Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
