  1. I am trying to get high quality recorded video on my computer (info on either of these methods would be nice):

    1# Method
I do not understand how some people upload HDTV. I am gussing they record it with there PVR, then somehow transfer it using usb or firewire?

Seems to be the easy method.

    2# Method
I am looking for some information on getting a HDTV capture card for my computer.

It seems I have been looking for one of these for about 6 months now and I figured this is the best place to ask people opinion about it.

I will start by saying I have never seen any HDTV before in my life, using google it seems like the PVR has component cables or dvi connection (anything else would not give the perfect quality). The card I have been thinking of purchasing (Myhd 120) has neither dvi or component cables so I am little confused (and apparently you need to get the sister card myhd 130 sister card to connect using DVI, which hooks up into the other weird port, so I doubt that quality). <- But purchasing both those cards would mean over 500$, and I am not even sure if I would get perfect quality I am looking for.

Your info and suggestion on which capture card I should purchase would be appreciated.

What I want from the capture card:
    • Ability to watch full quality HDTV (and obviously record it)
    • Having a coaxial connection for regular cable (if HDTV is not available)

Note: I do not want to use over the air signal (besides, it is not available in my area.)

what "they" usually do is capture the transport stream, convert it to a format that will give them high quality (like xvid).. the trick from there is playing it on your television..

i've seen a few HQ xvid episodes of lost, they were 1.4 gb for 41/42 minutes of video.. and they looked AMAZING..

    40 minutes X 3 = 2 hours, X 1.4gb = 4.2GB

i think it could be a good substitute for blue ray or HD-DVD.

You can also just get a HDTV tuner for your TV, then capture it directly to your pc.
