I have an NEC 3500AG v2.18 drive and I have never had any problems
playing any burn't discs of any type using TMPEG DVD writer v1.0.2 powered by Sonic Solutions. Nero ROM reloaded also works well on burns.
Don't use ElbyCloneDVD2 for burning lots of issues there with the ElbyCDIO low level driver, they may have fixed it but once bitten twice (don't use it ) shy.... lots of bad burns when you want to backup the disc again. Although its clone function is very easy to use and one of the best I have found for transcoding DVD-9 to DVD-5.
Always select the burn speed that is correct for the blank disc never burn higher if the max is x8 then burn at that speed or lower.
If you want to use Video discs, use VCDEasy and CD-RW media for 100% sucess, only a select few CD-R will work Nashua Mutlidrive compatibilty are the only CD-R I have found to work on this player.
