    Hi, disc-heads,

If I use that Sima CT-2 device, will I be able to convert my PAL video tapes to NTSC or can I watch my PAL video tapes on my American NTSC VCR and TV? I might eventually even want to record my PAL video tapes onto my NTSC stand-alone DVD-recorder. Can this Sima device do that? I am a newbie here. I did a search and didn't come up with any answers, hence I'm turning to you all. Please no flames or smart-alecky remarks.

Is there a device that I can get that does do this? Something that I don't need to run through my PC???

  4. There are standalone devices for PAL-NTSC conversion, but they are not cheap. Unless $200-$400 is cheap for you.

Of course you will also need a PAL player and a NTSC recorder.
