  1. Yesterday I registered the Divx 6 Converter, Codec and Mpeg plug in. had the trials that worked but had expired. After putting in my Serial Number. When I tried to use the converter, after it analyzes the VOB file and tries to encode it errors out saying it cannot find the Codec. I checked and Divx 6 is listed in my list of Codecs. I then tried converting the vob in avi.net 1.0 using Divx. When I checked the properties of my encode it said it was a Divx 5 file.
It's almost like the programs both avi.net and converter is not seeing Divx 6.

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

DivX 6 still uses the fourCC DX50, no? Check the userdata tag of the avi.net encode and see if it is DivX 5 or 6.

I am not familiar with avi.net but when I use virtualdub I need to choose the DivX 6 codec each and every time I start a new file. avi.net may just default to DivX 5.

When I first started using the Create Bundle I had an issue with the way my AC3 Filter codec was configured. Search around on the DivX site and you should find a small app that will set the AC3 Filter correctly. If you do not have the AC3 Filter on your system then it stands to reason that is not the issue.

  4. I Have AC3 filter on my sys, did that generate that specific error about it not finding the codec? Also when I checked the encoded data files tag it did say Divx 5. I checked under System info and video codecs and Divx six is listed as the first item.

I do not remember the error but it was probably not the same one.

The DivX site is not all that useful but if you have not already done so, it may be a good place to look for this problem.

I bought the Create bundle mainly to get the DivX 6 codec. I find the Converter to be too limited. I use VirtualDub-mpeg2 in conjuction with the DivX 6 codec. When you choose the DivX 6 codec in vdub you can then configure the codec the way you want it. I use VirtualDub-mpeg2 specifically because you can then convert mpeg files to divx, no need for the mpeg2 plugin.
