okay, so i got what i thought was a great deal from dish network.. and it still is to a certain extent.. basically everything went terribly wrong when i went looking for my region fox sports network.. i made sure when i was purchasing the package that it included fox sports net.. i went over every single detail of the package, and having my regional fox sports channel was one of the big things.. the installer came out and installed the system, he did a great job, was very friendly, no problems with him.. a couple of hours later the baseball game is coming on.. so i flip around for a few minutes unable to find it.. i then look up the channel on tvguide.com, when i enter the channel number it tells me i have to subscribe.. so i call dish network, the first person i speak with tells me it should be a part of the package, he doesnt understand why its not showing up.. he tells me he's going to transfer to a special programming department.. phone goes dead, i get a bit perturbed.. i call back a second time, she tells me its not a part of my package, and if i want the channel its going to be $5/month.. i get a bit more frustrated and ask to speak with a supervisor.. she says she's transferring me, phone line goes dead.. now i'm getting quite a bit frustrated.. i call back a 3rd time, explain the situation in a very polite manor.. she keeps giving me the run around, i ask to speak to a supervisor, but she keeps saying its going to be $5.. after about 3 or 4 minutes of this back and forth she offers me 2 free months.. i decline and keep asking to speak with a supervisor.. she eventually relents and transfers me.. after a few tense moments of silence a voice.. the voice of a supervisor.. i explain the situation yet again, again in a polite manor.. she gives me the run around about $5 a month.. i ask her to admit that her sales rep lied to me.. she just stays quite and goes over her previous shpiel.. i ask her to admit that i've been wronged by dish network, lied to, hung up on twice.. again silence and a repeat of the shpiel.. i then ask her why she wont admit that whats been done to me is wrong.. then she offers me 3 free months.. which is enough to get me through baseball season, so i reluctantly agree..
1 f*cking channel, $5? its not even porn or a movie.. i'm going to make sure i call about every single problem i have, just to occupy their customer service reps time.. and i'll make sure i call during non-india call center hours.. so that i'll be wasting the wage they would pay to an american.. even though i wont see any of the money, atleast i'll be wasting their money..
where is the devil face emoticon when you need it?![]()

That sucks. The only time I've ever had to call them (because of a reciver that had been unplugged for months and had its channel guide really messed up) the guy was really helpful. Took him about 12 min to figure out the problem and the solution.

you could get the same thing above for good prices too;
4 rooms, all standard $25/month
2 rooms, both dvr $25/month
2 rooms, both standard $20/month
(all with $1 or $2 taxes).. it's a pretty sweet deal, if you dont mind paying (or not having) your region fox sports network for $5/month.

Hi lumis...
The deals that are available today are MUCH better than
what was available when I had DirecTV. I have my Adelphia
internet bundled with cable TV so I can't complain.
I hope you like DISH. I liked the picture quality with DirecTV,
although I've read that some people aren't happy. I suppose
there's good and bad with all companies!
At least you won't be watching TV using an antenna!!!
Have fun! :P -

after that first month, i was looking around for a good deal on either directv or dish network, and about a week ago i found this dish network deal and was stoked.. i called them and ordered it.. i was really proud of myself for finding such a great deal with dvr & in 4 rooms... but then this..
still though, it's cheaper than cable (even if i were to continue after the 3 free months).. but i'm still pissed i was lied to & hung up on twice. -

Even the Adelphia box I had when I lived in OH had that jack.
I also had DirecTV at one time too, but they are too expensive price-wise....so I ended up going with Dish, and so far I am satisfied with it. Only down side to it is when the weather gets bad you have to deal with signal fade which can really suck when you're watching a good program. I think that's the only advantage that cable services had.
VTMI have the staff of power, now it's up to me to use it to its full potential to command my life and be successful. -

i havent had the chance to experience the quality during thunderstrorms.. but i was looking at the configuration/installation stuff earlier and it showed that i had 124/125 signal strength.. so i figure thats pretty good.
