  1. Hi, I have a logitech quickcam and wanted to record avi videomail files to send to my friend overseas.
    I used the logitech quickcam software and recorded 12 minutes of video. But the file size was 220MB!
    Could someone recommend a program that captures and compresses video captured to avi in a small file size?

    Hi bbrevolt,

    You can convert the captured AVI to WMV using Windows Movie Maker. This is one of the better formats for emailing / streaming.

    Make the resolution smaller (picture soze) and you'll get away with a lower bitrate which means a smaller end file size.

    I would expect you need to change your recording options within the software. You sould be able to adjust the recording properties to get the files smaller. You would mainly be concerned with resolution and bitrate.
