NEW MPEG FORMAT???

I heard a rumor that has been going around that there is a new type of Mpeg file format. From what I heard it is Mpeg 6. I think it is video..not completely sure though. Also I keep seeing these SACD features popping up on new DVD systems. It stands for SuperAudioCD. If any1 knows anything about these 2 topics, Please Post. Thanx.

As for your MPEG question. I believe that they are calling the next standard MPEG-7. I read in a magazine the reason for the numbering system but cant remember. I will see if I can find that magazine as it had like a 5 page article on MPEG and where it is heading

You could look at the group who develops the mpeg standards homepage, it has a lot of info about the different mpegs =)

I once attended a seminar by Sony on SACD a couple of years ago at an exhibition called "Live2000" here in the UK. I couldn't hear any difference in the sound between CDDA and SACD, and that was with THOUSANDS of pounds worth of sony equipment...
