I just got a DVD-R from a guy who had recorded a bunch of old cartoons onto it with his Philips something-or-other DVD recorder/player.
I wanted to make a copy of it onto my TY media, but DVDShrink gave me an "Invalid DVD Navigation Structure" error.
So, I ripped the disc with DVDDecrypter, and the output file is 8.54GB! It is NOT a DL disc that I got from the guy.
I tried to load that output file into DVDShrink, and it opened it that time, and Shrink confirmed that there was 8+ gigs in the file. There are the Menu's, Main Movie files, and "Unreferenced Material" of almost 4 gigs.
Any idea how 8+ gigs gets onto a regular DVD-R? Or how I can figure out what all that Unreferenced Material is?
Oh - if I go to DVDShrink's Reauthor mode, I noticed that only the menu's and Title's 1-7 and 9-15 are listed. No Title 8, and no "unreferenced Material" or extra's or anything.
Any help/input/thoughts greatly appreciated folks!

What do you mean? That somewhere in the navigation file there is a command that says to count everything twice or something like that?
If so, how do I fix it? How can I copy this disc? Preferably without such an error. My gear:

As mentioned the index is screwed up. There is probably some second angles or other alternate path type stuff and for some reason the rippers are tracking through the movie twice. There isn't really 8+gigs, just you are going through 99% of the 4 gig movie 2x. Probably the the easiest is to use DVD shrink and look for a duplicate movie track That is assuming of course you can get that far before you get an error. You can then edit it to a single still picture. You can get fancier and use PGC edit.
The other suggestion is to just rip the movie and not the whole DVD. -
Ok, thanks. I suppose ISOBuster would work fine. I suppose I could rip each individual episode to the HDD and then reauthor them as a new DVD too. Kind of 6 of one 2 three's of another there... thanks for the help.
