I've backed up countless numbers of my DVDs with GK, and I've never really had a problem with it... except whenever I try to back up any of my animated stuff. Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons... for some reason there's a strange pulldown pattern in them that doesn't convert properly. If I use the Forced Film setting in DGIndex/DVD2AVI the video motion comes out jerky, and if I use the IVTC setting under GK's deinterlace options it comes out smooth, but with the occasional interlace "jaggy" at seemingly random intervals. Has anybody else encountered this before, and if so what did you do to fix it? Or, has anybody managed to convert their episodes of The Simpsons/Family Guy/Futurama/etc. to DivX without jaggies and without doing a simple deinterlace? (All the deinterlace options I've tried come out looking bad) If I have to write an AviSynth script that's no problem at all for me, I just need to know what functions to use.
