ArrCCos is a bich.
the top running solution is :
MTR v. 2.66 to Rip in full disc (ArrCCos Mode)
then
Process with DVD2ONEX v. 1.42 as Full Disc Copy.
I did S&T like this a while back, and my backup copy plays fine.
Yes, MTR reports "bad sectors were found please verify"
after it rips ArrCCos, and DVD2ONEX 1.42 recognizes
the output from MTR's FDA rip mode, and re-quantums
back to a correct .VOB. AFAIK, popcorn does NOT."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

We both used Cell extraction with DVD2ONEX.
again, AFAIK, Popcorn will not look at cell extraction/Chapter
extraction like DVD2ONEX.
For what I know, Popcorn
uses only ready to author VIDEO_TS to re-quantum,
and cannot do Cell Extraction/Chapter extraction."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

Terry, I once again betray my abject ignorance.
Question about ARccOS: You said that MTR's "mode" setting
of "full disk (ARccOS)" was about the best one could do.
Should that be the default one selects for ripping? Is
there any advantage or drawback to that choice? -
Full Disc and Full Disc (ARccOS) are both the most reliable modes, which simply make a full copy of the DVD on your hard drive, minus the copy protection. MTR automatically switches to the ARccOS and non-ARccOS upon detection of that copy protection. MTR 3.0 will be out fairly soon, and will be vastly superior in handling ARccOS DVDs.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté." -

theres a type of encription which is new called arccos, which mtr can handle, but gives those messages. the drive in my machine has something which wont let me rip out of region dvds, and i kept getting that message. but, if you dont have that drive(matshita uj-825) just do a movie only rip it should be fine (in my experience) and you can play it back with vlc media player. but you cant burn it with popcorn.
