i'm going to replace my lite-on 811s drive because i'm sick of 4x dvd-r speed.
i want at least 8x.
i came up with 2 conclusions.

and
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16827152047
i received a bunch of 8x dvd-r as a gift:
100 pack TDK 8x dvd-r (TTG02)
100 pack FUJI 8x dvd-r (PRODISCF01)
50 pack VERBATIM 8x dvd-r (MCC 02RG20)
which of those 2 dvd writers will work better with my media?

I have upgraded to 2 pioneer dvd108's with a little looking around i have found the firmware upgrade that has allowed me now to burn any dvd at 16x. i havent wrote at that speed yet but they write fine at 8x so far on anything ive put in them including the cheap 2x disks

I have a Pioneer 109XL and so far its been good. Though ive only burned 8X TY discs. No problems to date.
But you can do a search on this forum, and some people are having probems with the 109.
