  1. I have been searching this site and have been unable to find a way to get my backed up VOB, IFO, and BUP files onto a DVD. (which are less than 4.1 GB in total size)

I am currently using ULead DVD Movie Factory 3. How can I get these files back onto a DVD so that I can retain all the original sound and chapter information?

I have tried changing the file extension to .MPG, but this removed the sound, and did not seem to let me do anything with the chapters.

Thanks in advance for any help....

Assuming you have all the files, then that is a DVD, you just need to burn them. Use Nero and select the DVD-Video option. Place all the files you have in the VIDEO_TS directory, leave the AUDIO_TS directory empty and burn.

Obviously Other burning apps can be used instead of Nero.

  4. It looks like DVDShrink will not rip unless you have Nero (according to the link).

I saw a post somewhere in these forums where somebody purchased Nero for under $20 total. Anybody know off hand where I can download it for cheap or free, since ULead Movie Factory does not have an option to bring in VOB files for video (which I assume is when it would create the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders)

DVD Shrink will rip without Nero, but will not burn without it. You can use the trail version of Nero and download from the Ahead website.

Alternatively, you can use dvd shrink to output the file in ISO mode and burn with DVD Decrypter, which is free
