    Hello everyone,
Can anyone help me with this problem. I have downloaded all the Sony VOB trailers (VOB format) to my hard drive and would like to convert them to a usable format (I think perhaps IFO). I have Sony Vegas 5.0 and Uleads DVD Workshop and am wondering if anyone has had any experience using those two programs and working with VOB transfers to IFOs.

Please let me know as I'd like to use those Dolby trailers as first play scenes to doll up my DVDs.

    Thanks so much,
    Darren

Do you mean use the trailers to insert into a dvd backup. Theres no need to convert. Use PGCEdit, its simple and straightforward.

if you need to create IFO files for the VOBs, use IFOEdit.

What I'm looking to do (for Ulead) is to drag and drop the AVI file into the title work space (if you are familiar with DVD Worshop). I'm under the impression that VOBs won't work in the way thats needed for this to occur. In Sony, I'm working with AVI files as well, and being that VOBs aren't AVI files, I'm in need of help to change VOB to a working file to incorporate into a DVD project, too.

    Thanks,
    Darren

Im not familiar with DVD Workshop. I would suggest leaving the Sony VOBs as they are. If you're original files are in AVIs, then author your dvd as you would usually do.

When you have authoured your DVD, create a folder where you copy your sony VOB trailers too. Open IFOEdit, and create IFO files for the vobs.

Then use PGCEdit, open the authored dvd, and in PGCEdit, go to Macro, then "Import First-Play (startup) Clip", and locate the VOB you wish to insert, in your case will be the Sony trailer VOB.

This method seems more preferable as you can skip the steps of comverting the VOB to AVI and back to VOB again which normally will result in quality loss.

Use rejig to demux them. If they have AC3 audio then you wont be able to load them into Vegas without converting to wav or similar.
