I've been backing up my dvd's using MTR 2.6.4, DTOX 1.4.1 and then toast 6 and haven't had any problems until last week when I started to back up some of my newly purchased dvd's using the same routine but now the dvd player on my G4 mac doesn't recognize it nor does my zenith dvb318.

At first I thought it was the media type so I burned a few more using different types but got the same result.

So I started reading thru some of the topics on this site and found the new version of MTR is out. I now have the new version of MTR 2.6.6 and continued backing up my dvd's but on the very first attempt, I received more modes to extract than I would get on MTR 2.6.4.

Do I need to extract my dvd's with the arccos or without it, ie. main feature without arccos or main feature with arccos? Whats the difference between the two? Will I need anything else software-wise to be able to continue backing up my dvd's?

Sorry if this is a repeat but I didn't see any posts about this...

    Thanks in advance

The new version of MTR is ArrCCos aware. So if it prompts
you that you have an ArrCos disc, then use
    "full movie with ArrCCos".
    Then with the new DVD2OneX ( v.1.42),
process the output and you should be fine.

  3. MTR 2.6.6 maybe ArCCos aware but I have still not
been able to extract a Sony DVD yet. I've tried every
setting the app. has and still get a message that the
    extraction has "bad sectors".

    I'm using a G-5 dual so I don't think it's a hardware issue.

Other than the ArCCos issue MTR ROCKS!

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated

    Have backed up several Sony/Columbia/Tristar
    releases, this combo NEVER fails.
