  1. Currently I have an Asus P4S800 D-E Deluxe board. I have a P4 3.2 processor, Audigy 2 ZS Platinum card, 2 Gigs of Kingston PC3200 and will be getting a Geforce 6800 GT video card. I am wondering if anyone can suggest a pretty good mother board. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think the pinnacle of socket 478 boards is going to be an 875 chipset, I don't think 478 is available with PCI-E. Anyway you're on the mark with Asus, but upgrade to the P4C800.

I would stay with Asus, they make good solid motherboards.

  4. Hi Lothar1974...can I ask you what´s wrong with your motherboard?, or it´s just the fact of accomodating the new graphics card?(I suppose it´s PCI-E, isn´t it?)
I ask you because I´m in the process of upgrading my own PC and trying to get a balance between price and performance was considering an ASUS motherboard a bit simmilar to yours, so I´d appreciate any coments regarding your experience with it.

Because it's an SiS chipset board. The best you're gonna get for the socket 478 is an Intel 875 chipset. Also socket 478 doesn't support PCI-E, only the LGA775 boards support the new graphics standard.
