Ok the big problem im having these day is getting lcd monitors to work with my motherboards.to be more clear i have purchased a few lcd monitors and when i go t ohook them up to m mother board i get no signal. all my motherboards are funtional its just seem they never work with vga. My last monitor which was crt type monitor burned out , but it worked perfectely with my last 478chipset board but since it burnt out i cant find any monitor to load .Im not looking for another crt type of monitor cause i was planning to upgrade to 775 chipset type motherboard and i dont want to rush into buying anything if i cant even get an lcd monitor to work with it. I was planning to get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.348706. But i wanted to atleast figure something out on how to get a lcd monitor to work.Is there something different when it comes to using lcd monitors?

No difference that would cause you to not get a picture. Do you get a picture during boot? If not, probably a bad cable, bad LCD monitor or bad video card.

No, not for VGA. You must send a monitor supported resolution (ideally the monitor's native resolution) and set refresh to 60Hz.

Have you installed the mother board VGA drivers?

Is you on-board video disabled by a jumper?

Well to be able to asses the problem correctly

1: Don't fiddle with the monitors menu ... default works out of the box
2: Remove cmos battery, remove power cord and leave it for an hour ... long enough for system board power to deplete
3: Reinstall cmos battery and connect lcd, reconnect power cord and fire up
4: Should the lcd now work enter bios and check time, date, and any other options, save bios changes ... system reboots

Check you dont have both onboard and an addon gpu ... default addon gpu takes control in modern boards

5: If nothing appears on screen and both lcd and crt working units have been used then it's most likely when that old crt went it also damaged the system board or gave it's psu a touchup.

Try another working psu , retest, failing anything to show onscreen suggests the board has a malfunction and requires replacement.

Have you ever had display with the MB??

If not then start to narrow it down.. First take out RAM (one stick at a time) then power on, if nothing still then take out hard drive then power on (you bios should come up).., if nothing still then try unhooking your disc drives to see if those may be bad and then try power on..

I recently had a no display problem and believe it or not one of my disc drives were bad so it wouldn't give me display until I unhooked it.

Bjs say's to take the MB battery out for about an hour??? I don't see why you should have it out for more than a minute, it will reset the bios to factory defaults before a minute is up usually.
