Hi all, Im going to setup (for a friend, little unsure of where to start as ive never done this before?) a wire less internet connection between a laptop (hp compaq nx 9005) and his computer, using a d-link dsl-200 modem, basically where do i start? any help would be greatful? thnx ( and no i havent yet bought the networking gear)

Start by dumping the DSL-200. I had one of those (it came free when I signed up for ADSL). It worked OK for 256/64, but when I upgraded the connection 1.5mb and had to reinstall the drivers (the only way to reconfigure the connection on this modem) it started crashing windows with a BSOD. In the end the solution was to ditch USB and go ethernet, which the DSL-200 can't do.

Get a good wireless router modem and save yourself a lot of grief.

so what about The DSL-300T ADSL modem? is that any good?

netcomm make some good kit (once bitten etc, although I use a D-link ethernet card)
