    This camcorder connects perfectly well through the firewire port on my mainboard, but the firewire port on my Studio capture card doesn't react to it at all. However, a Sony Handicam does connect fine through the firewire port on the Studio card, so there's some major compatibility problem between the Samsung and Studio. Any one else come across this issue? Solution, perhaps?

    As far as Stuio brand I've never heard anything, I have heard of some cams that won't operate when connected to generic non-TI chipset firewire cards.
