  1. i want to know how can i set the default to capture to mp3g/VCD format. right now i am capturing but it captures to a .vcr file, that i can only play in ATI's software. so i need to know how to use the ATI software to capture and burn VCDs.

Also, compared to the ATI All inwonder 9800, am i going to see a big difference in the capture quality?

    thanks ahead.

Depending on what version MMC you are running, you should have a recording preset for VCD. I've also got the AIW 7500 and am running MMC 8.9. 8.9 has 4 presets, DVD, Good, Longer and VCD as standard, although I've changed them as per www.digitalfaq.com.

The Theatre chipset is common to all AIW Radeon based cards, so the quality of captures will be no different. The only difference that a later Radeon chip makes is to the graphics side of things. Important if you use the PC for high end games, of no use at all to anyone (like me) that uses the PC for serious stuff and not as a toy. In fact, I've never been able to work out why people do it, if you want to play games buy an X-Box or whatever.

  4. thanks for your help. a few more questions.

i am not a gamer or anything. so i just do videocapturing from my miniDV via firewire and now will start using the vcr with the All in wonder card. and i guess that DVD playback is the only graphic intensive thing that i do.

so..... you are saying with the graphics card i will not see a difference with the capturing quality?

#2) what about the features. i want to use the TV tuners and other remote features. are they all the same? meaning, all the software is the same just updated? can updated software be downloaded for 7500?

Use ATI MMC 8.x or 9.x on the 7500 card.
