Hi, I've done a few searches on this but can't find an answer. I've recorded Video Games footage to my standalone DVD Recorder then ripped the files to Mov format using the DV NTSC Pro Codec with excellent smooth results. I've then imported the footage into After Effects 5.5, composited my movie and exported it via the Render Queue using the Sorenson 3 codec.

At this point it goes wrong, I've done several trials changing the video frame rate, key frame rate, and quality settings but have not been able to get good quality results. My average setting is 30 FPS, Key frames every 150 or 300 frames, and quality at 75-100. The video looks a little fuzzy but more importantly I get stuttered playback with the Quicktime player unable to cope.

There's an Adobe Tech file I've found and followed as much as possible but it hasn't resolved it. (I don't think I need to think about Fields and compensate for them as I think my source material would be Frames?). I've checked the Data Rate settings compared to movies I've downloaded from Games sites and mine are comparable. My Movie is also the same resolution with the same Codec. When I export the composited movie from After Effects using the DV NTSC Pro setting it plays back fine.

Is it that I need to get hold of something like "Media Cleaner" and export it from After Effects in DV NTSC Pro then run it through Media Cleaner and set the Sorenson settings in there? My movie is 8 mins long at 640 x 480 and will eventually run from a CD though I might think about converting it to DVD format (MPEG II?) if it's not too complicated.

Many thanks.
