  1. Ok here's the deal, I am not a tech Wizard , I know very little about computers. I just installed a brand new DVD burner , It worked for a few days now it won't write ... this is the second DVD burner i have installed. I use cloneDVD and DVD X copy Gold. On both types of software it prepares the files for writing but it freezes when it comes to burning...if it does write the quality of the movie is so horrid it's not funny. Please be gentle I am not a comp wiz. Thank You

  2. Post what media & burner you've used.
Check to make sure that you're in DMA mode.
Download & try freeware like DVD Decrypter & DVD Shrink.

  5. yes i have. on both accounts. this is the second burner to do this. im thinking something in the computer itself is ruining these drives. i tried another movie last night. it burned fine but when it was played back it was so choppy and unwatchable i just tossed it away.

sounds like a software conflict.....dvd x copy can cause conflicts with other burning software.....toshiba doesn't do well in writing dvd media.....if your problem continues i'd return the toshiba drive and get another brand...and uninstall that dvd x copy....as already suggested just use freeware DECRYPTER & DVD SHRINK.....

  8. i have made around 20 id say. my other comp had both clone and dvdx and never had a probelm with that one. and the HP burner is doing the exact same thing as the toshiba so most likely it is software but not thinking dvd x is the problem. but i could be wrong i will take it out and try it.
