  1. Hi all,

    I have a DVD+R of a movie that I own. I used CloneDVD 2 to make the DVD+R.

When I load the DVD+R into the drive and load CloneDVD, CloneDVD shows ALL titles, tracks, subtitles, and features that were present in the original. However, I know that when I made the copy I removed certain bonus materials, titles, and language tracks.

Is there a way to see what features were removed and what features were kept? Obviously, I could load the DVD+R in my DVD player and manually go through all of the features to see if they are present. However, since I don't have surround sound at all, I cannot verify the presence of DTS or Dolby Digital surround sound mixes. Also, this could be quite slow and tedious. Is there another way?

    Mike

You could open the IFOs in IFOEdit. This may or may not tell you exactly what was kept, depending on how CloneDVD removes features, and whether it changes the IFOs. Judging by your observation that it showed everything that was present in the original, it sounds like it may just "blank" unwanted stuff, as opposed to completely removing it.

You'd be surprised how much info DVDDecrypter or Smartripper can tell you about your DVDs when in stream processing mode too:

    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. Thanks for the quick response.

Apparently, CloneDVD 'blanks' unwanted material and does not remove it completely. Both IFOEdit and DVD Decryptor also showed all extras, languages, etc. present on the original DVD. This includes material I know that I removed for sure.

So I guess that answers my question. There is no softwar that will tell me what is actually on the DVD because the DVD shows that everything is there. I guess I'll just have to verify manually. Thanks for the help jimmalenko.

IFOEdit and DVDDecrypter will at least give you running times of each PGC, which, if CloneDVD does just blank extras, should be significantly smaller than the original running times of those features. That might give you a bit of a start.
    If in doubt, Google it.
