Hey all, Im having sort of a problem with TMPGEnc, it gives me the message, System error:5 Access is denied. I was trying to convert an avi to an avi, to compress it. Now I converted a 50min movie doing this, and now it wont do it with this 2hr and 9min movie. How can I fix it, or try to get it to work.

    Here is a screen shot.

I tried it again, and it gave me the same error message at the same time as the pic above, something must be wrong.

do you have enough hard drive space on the temporary directory tmpgenc is working on?
Or try just do "ES video" only see if that helps.
I recall coming across incomprehensible error messages and forgot what I did to resolve them. I think I have done one of the above in one of those error messages

Firstly WinME is garbage, and it wouldn't surprise me if it's some sort of permissons error (Access is denied is generally a permissions error) with non-administrators writing things to the Windows directory. Try outputting to your C:\ instead of C:\WINDOWS\Desktop.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Thanks for the reply, but I got it to work, It was something with the environmental settings.

well my video was a captured avi using my archos av300. I just put higher priority on the avi plugs. And it seemed to make it work.
