I have a old JVC DVD player, worked just fine till yesterday.
Now suddenly it has stopped playing DVDs (No Disk error) but still can play VCDs/mp3/audio. It even rejects a brand new DVD with 'NO DISK'.
What could be this strange problem ?
I tried searching on net but didn't find anything about it.
    Please help.

    thank You...

Sounds like the laser has died. A DVD player mechanism won't play CDs unless it has a second laser, one for DVDs and the other for CDs. It sounds like your DVD laser has reached it's sell by date. Time for a new player.

DVD reading laser has met its maker, ie, dead! If I am not mistaken, one laser reads the much narower DVD track and another can read data from CDs such as VCD and photo images, mp3 and such. Time for a new machine.
Lucky, they are super cheap compared to what you originally paid for your old one. Smae exact thing happend to me except it was a DVD / RW drive. Gave it to my daughter who uses it as a CD burner and reader. After a year it is still working as a "CD / RW " Go figure.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
