I am going to try to convey this info while respecting the rules regarding warez, etc.
Just an FYI.
Vegas Video ver 3 and a possible application developed by DAMN will not work in Win XP. They do however work in Win 2000. Hope this helps all who it may be applicable to.
Happy Holidays

Hmmmmmmmmm.......I must've had a bum version of it then. I just d/l'd though from the same place as I had previously tried. Also, I receieved 2 completely different computer ID's on the same machine, in the 2 different OS's.
I haven't a clue on why it wouldn't then.....but the 2 different ID's for the 2 different OS's on the same machine are definatley interesting ??

The computer ID for Sonic Foundry's products is based on the volume serial number for the hard-drive that the application is installed to. The initial seven digits correlate to the volume serial number of your drive, the last two digits can change. If you have completely variant IDs then you have the application installed to a different drive or partition. When you format your drive your volume serial number changes and therefore the activation code that was issued to you, which is based on the previous volume serial number, is now no longer functional. All you need to do is reinstall the software onto the newly formatted drive, when it asks you to register choose 'over the phone', on the next screen you'll see your current computer ID number. Write it down, go to http://www.sonicfoundry.com/register. Re-register for the application you are using, assigning your current ID to the registration. You'll then get a new .reg file sent back to you from their server and it will re-activate the application. This can be done 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's really quite easy.
