    Anyone know a programme that you can run a corrupt video through to clean it.

    It was supposed to be in mpg but when I ran it through GSpot it said that is wasn't a valid avi file

    Then that would mean that it's not an avi file, which probably means it's an mpeg file. I believe GSpot is meant to be used for avi video and not mpeg video (although version 2.21 does give me some info about an mpeg file loaded).

  6. Why would you want to convert it to avi? As this was asked in the DVD Authoring forum, I assumed you wanted to take the mpeg and author it to DVD. Avi files are not supported in the DVD spec, and all you're going to do is degrade the quality of the video from the added compression that you'll get when compressing to avi.

    If you're trying to save corrupted video, you could try cutting out the corrupted portion with a program like Cuttermaran.
