i'm trying to do the following conversion wmv to dvd but the outcome quality is very jerky in comparison with the original video which is flawless
i'm using tmpg encoder and i've set the bitrate at 3500 bps but crapy result
can you propose of a way for better results?

sorry mate i used the word jerky so you understood framerate problems
the frames are fine what i meant to say was that the quality of the produced video(3500bps) really lacks in comparison with the original one which is very good -
the file is about 70min long(700MB the bitrate of the wmv is at 1600 bps the quality is dvd-like)
but what i really want to know is why when i convert a DVD to mpeg1(1500bps to 1800bps) i get avery good quality result
and now with this wmv file even with the 3500bps the result is far worse than the original -
mpeg1 is very similar to mpeg2
and in the past i have made great quality mpeg2 only up to 3000bps
my question is why this doesnt work when the source of video is a wmv?
