A naive .. I guess question for everyone in the FORUM. My daughter needs to do a project for her cinema class, where she wants to take short parts of films (on DVDs we own) export them in mov or AVI and edit them. Is there any easy way to define the part of the movie to be copied ? I am familiar with copying entire movies but I am not so sure about the how's of specific part in a film (ie from min 2:45 to 12:56 ).
Thanks in advance

Rip the whole disc to HD, then use MPEG Streamclip to cut a segment.

As far as I understand, that program works on mac only.
What about PC?
EDIT: oops.... I didn't know that this was a mac forum, because i just did a search... sorry. -
Another good program to look at is Cinematize. It is also available in both Mac and Windows versions.
