I have a Canon PowerShot A300 camera with videos(AVI) that I took, probably all three minutes.
I go to import them in AE and I get this error message:
"After Effects error: no such AVI compressor. (-2147205007)
( 53 :: 33 ) "
What's wrong? What could I do?![]()

use G-spot to find out what codec is required to open the avi. It could be a quicktime variant, an mjpeg compression, or an mp4 variant. You need to find out what, then install an appropriate codec to open the file.
Given that it is so small, you could try opening them in virtualdubmod, then saving them out as uncompressed and loading this into AE.Read my blog here.
