  1. Hi

I am going to attend my School Lecture but as the Lecturer does not use a Mic, his voice is very soft. Is there any small voice recorder that records things VERY clearly to recommend?

If the speaker uses a podium and you are allowed to place a small recorder there, most any recorder will probably work.

I use a Sony microcassette recorder that costs about $20US and it works well if you are in close. If you are in the audience and can't hear the speaker very loud and clear, then it would take fairly expensive equipment to get a decent recording. The least you would need is a directional microphone. Not cheap.

With voice recording, you generally have to get up close and personal if you want a clean, noise free recording.

  4. a good voice recorder will run you a lot. it gets to the point where you should just be buying a minidisc and a sensitive mic if you want to do the job right.

take a look at the olympus line too. you'll probably want something that uploads to your computer via usb since i assume you will be recording many lectures throughout the year and will need a good way of organizing them.

i find the cheap tape recorders to be very hissy, so are many of the digital recorders that's why i mention mindisc

If you have to shoot long distance then you need shotgun and you need a means to point it.

Easier to get up early and sit in the first row.
