Hi,
Bitrates were never an issue until now. I just need someone to tell me whats ideal for mpeg2 from avi...to be authored on dvd by adobe encore?
VBR is better? ok, so should i go with two passes?
last question: if dvd space is no issue, should I slide max bitrate to the max? will that give the best quality or is there a limitation where it doesnt matter how high i go anymore?
again, please someone tell me whats ideal, and whats a no no...
thanx
VERVE

I've settled into mostly two encoding profiles for Premiere and Vegas (both use the Mainconcept SDK and produce similar results).
For DV camcorder material I use 8Mb/s CBR full quality.
For analog captures at high quality, I use 8 max, 6 or 7 average, 4 min Mb/s VBR with 80% quality. If I need additional compression, I use 2 pass.
