While I was running ffmpgex in Panther it was flawlessly. I have upgraded to Tiger, and I can’t transfer from AVI to DVD.
I selected (quick preset) decode DVD with ffmpgex (as I used to do), and unchecked “keep elementary streams” and just checked “author as DVD Video_TS”. I have also included subtitles. When I preview the movie it looks great, but when the encoding process ends I got only some files but not the Video_TS folder.

I’ve read a thread regarding existing issues with Tiger, and I have run the suggested command in Terminal and downloaded the application (ffmpegx and the codecs). But this does not seem to solve the problem.

Below is message I got once the process finished.

    Any ideas?

  2. It seems that there are no errors in encoding, but an error during the rendering of the subtitles. Remove the space in the "24 Decoded" folder and in your disk name if there are any, and possibly also delete from your subtitle file the line displayed at the end of the output (by using a text editor).

Thanks Major, problem solved. However, there is a minor issue.

In spite of deselecting "keep elementary streams", the output still contains an .mov file, and the name of the folder containing the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS has the extension "movie".mpg.DVD

  4. What do you mean? Disabling "Keep elementary streams" will have the effect of removing the big m2v and ac3 intermediate files.

    sorry my mistake.
I thought that by disabling that I would get only the VIDEO_TS folder
