I have two mkv movie files and tried to convert them to AVI files in order to burn DVD, I tried several kind of mkv converter’s trial version but failed. The symptom was when I added my file to convert, it dead or just doesn’t work. I don’t know why and hope if someone can recommend a good one which has free trial version.
    or give me some advices.

    Thanks!

Do you want a dvd-video? then try convertxtodvd or favc.
Do you want an avi on a dvd disc? then try alltoavi.

    What does that mean????

What Baldrick was asking is what final format are you wanting?

You can convert the mkv to mpg2 and create a disc that meets the DVD spec or you can just convert the mkv to avi. Both tools are listed above.

    You could try SUPER.

Personally, I would use DVD Flick or FAVC, then VOB2MPG. It's two steps, but the quality will be much higher than SUPER will produce.
