Some of those have really stupid reason for an error message.

I know someone who has AOL Email. I can't send her a message anymore. Maybe I get caught in her spam filter or something.

dynamic and residential IP addresses. Per our E-mail Guidelines, we do not accept mail from these addresses

which is a huge amount of mail -- i.e. you can not send mail to AOL accounts if you are on cable or DSL now ...

I'm on cable and can send e-mail to AOL accouts, to tell you the truth besides the "account does not exist" error I don't get any mail back from AOL. I think where that error would come into play is if you set up a mail server on your own machine.

I suspect that if AOL, for one month, only allowed people to receive email from other AOL subscribers, they'd probably catch a lot of the spammers they're looking for (IYKWIM).

No it will change if I reboot modem which is almost never. I don't see how they can possibly block mail just because it originated from a dynamic IP, as you stated that's a lot of people including everyone on dial-up. That has to refer to a mail server on a dynamic IP.

I have a 1mb/s upload connection, just think of the email I could spam out in a few seconds.

I also find the same complaints mentioned on a few news groups ...

I dont have AOL - so i have no way to really test anything myself ...

AOL is crap for idiots and old people.

I am still amazed by morons that pay extra to add AOL to their broadband services with others. That's almost like paying extra to have a virus installed on your computer.

I don't know many people with AOL accounts. I generally prefer to deal with people that are smarter than that.

    None of this surprises me.
