  2. Chris, these audio / video sync problems have been discussed n-number of times on this forum. You could have done a search for this. Anyway.

Was the audio in sync after joining ? Was the audio in sync after creations of VOBs ? If the audio was in sync after joining the AVIs then IMO demux the audio & video and use a DVD authoring software to create your DVD. Load the separate audio & video in your authoring software and let it create the VOBs and burn it. Hopefully this should solve your problem

It happens often, that when you join 2 AVIs, you get a sync problem in the output DVD.
    Try VSO DivXtoDVD (freeware).
Do not join AVIs, just add first AVI and then the second in the program window, for batch encoding.
The output would be 1 DVD with 2 VOBs, ready for burning.

"IMO Demux" is not a software. IMO = In My Opinion. Maybe I should have written in small case. Demux is a process to separate out audio & video streams.

Some of the well established authoring software are TMPGEnc DVD Author, DVDLab Pro. See the tools section of this forum for more info.

The problem here is that a retarded monkey encoded the audio for your DIVX/XVID file. They have a tendency to do that. They use broken/corrupted VBR encoding, and it screws up the audio sync. Virtualdub is your friend in this situation - just save the audio off as a WAV and then re-encode it properly. Takes about 5 minutes.

I get this problem with AC3 sounded AVIs. Should I try demuxing them with VirtualDUB Mod first and then convert them as 2 tracks to ensure the audio is in sync?

  8. AC3 is NOT VBR. So, should only demultiplex the audio and use it unchanged for DVD.
I think you must change the encoder.

I tried WinAVI and same results the audio is out of sync plus the aspect ratio gets messed up.
