  1. I'm looking to buy a new DVD player. I wanted a changer with HDMI output, but there don't seem to be any. Before I start trying to decide which feature I'd rather have, does anyone know if there are any changers with HDMI on the horizon?

There are only a few single DVD players with HDMI. All future High Def DVD players will have HDMI so be sure to save a connector for it.

There's really not much point in anybody making a HDMI DVD player until there are some HD DVDs available. There are some current HD DVD players, but they just up-convert regular DVD video to HD-looking video that's not really HD.
I have a DVR from my cable company that has HDMI output (Scientific Atlanta 8500). Unfortunately, since the DVR only outputs left and right audio to the HDMI output, whenever it is used, the DVR shuts off the optical audio output, so you no longer get any Dolby digital 5.1 sound. Hopefully, future HD DVD players will not do this.
