    I have some home videos which I want to make dvd's of using Date/Time stamp as a subtitile. So this is what I did:

    1. Copied video to my HD in AVI format.
    2. Extracted Datecode using DvSubMaker into a .sub file.
    3. Converted .sub file into .srt file using Subtitle Creator. (I had to do this because DVDLabpro does not like the sub file created by DvSubMaker.
    4. Demuxed AVI file with Tmpgenc into separate m2v and mp2 files.
    5. Launched DVDLabPRo and imported the m2v, mp2 and the .srt file.
    6. Created basic menu and compiled DVD.

    Everything seems to be working fine except that the subtitle, when turned on, has a slight flicker in it. It is not as steady as you see on the Camcorder. Since in a span of 1 minute, only the seconds count changes so rest of the info should not have any flicker. However, what I get is as if the entire subtitle is being wiped for fraction of a second (when the seconds change) and then rewritten with the new seconds count. There is a flicker in the entire subtitle for that transition phase. This happens every second and I find it somewhat annoying. I looked into the .srt file and looks something like this:

    1
    00:00:00,033 --> 00:00:00,100
    14:00:31
    13.09. 2004

    2
    00:00:00,133 --> 00:00:01,101
    14:00:32
    13.09. 2004

    3
    00:00:01,134 --> 00:00:02,102
    14:00:33
    13.09. 2004

    4
    00:00:02,135 --> 00:00:03,103
    14:00:34
    13.09. 2004

    5
    00:00:03,136 --> 00:00:04,104
    14:00:35
    13.09. 2004

    6
    00:00:04,137 --> 00:00:04,338
    14:00:36
    13.09. 2004

    7
    00:00:04,371 --> 00:00:04,505
    14:00:49
    13.09. 2004

    8
    00:00:04,538 --> 00:00:05,506
    14:00:50
    13.09. 2004

    9
    00:00:05,539 --> 00:00:06,440
    14:00:51
    13.09. 2004

    10
    00:00:06,473 --> 00:00:07,441
    14:00:52
    13.09. 2004

    11
    00:00:07,474 --> 00:00:08,442
    14:00:53
    13.09. 2004

    12
    00:00:08,475 --> 00:00:09,443
    14:00:54
    13.09. 2004

    13
    00:00:09,476 --> 00:00:10,210
    14:00:55
    13.09. 2004

    Is there a way I can fix this.

    Thanks for your help......

    To me, it looks like a gap between one "subtitles off time" and the next "subtitle on" time. I'd be surprised if that didn't look like flicker.
    12th subtitle goes off 00:00:09,443 while 13th sub doesn't come on until 00:00:09,476

    Good observation. Now, I don't know how that happens. As I said, I first created the .sub file with DvSubMaker. Here is the sub file:

    {1}{3}14:00:31|13.09.2004
    {4}{33}14:00:32|13.09.2004
    {34}{63}14:00:33|13.09.2004
    {64}{93}14:00:34|13.09.2004
    {94}{123}14:00:35|13.09.2004
    {124}{130}14:00:36|13.09.2004
    {131}{135}14:00:49|13.09.2004
    {136}{165}14:00:50|13.09.2004
    {166}{193}14:00:51|13.09.2004
    {194}{223}14:00:52|13.09.2004
    {224}{253}14:00:53|13.09.2004
    {254}{283}14:00:54|13.09.2004
    {284}{306}14:00:55|13.09.2004

    In this file everything looks fine. I think what Subtitle Creator is doing converting the frames to time in HH:MM:SS:CCC format. So here 12th title is ending at frame 283 which divided by 29.97 (The frame rate) comes to 00:00:09:443 and 13th title start at frame 284 which resolves to 00:00:09:476.

    Could this caus for flicker ?

    I will really appreciate your input. Thanks for your help....

    OK, I did a quick test. I added 1 to the ending frame of every subtitle and redid the whole thing. No luck. Still looks the same.

    Here is the modded .sub file:

    {1}{4}14:00:31|13.09.2004
    {4}{34}14:00:32|13.09.2004
    {34}{64}14:00:33|13.09.2004
    {64}{94}14:00:34|13.09.2004
    {94}{124}14:00:35|13.09.2004
    {124}{131}14:00:36|13.09.2004
    {131}{136}14:00:49|13.09.2004
    {136}{166}14:00:50|13.09.2004
    {166}{194}14:00:51|13.09.2004
    {194}{224}14:00:52|13.09.2004
    {224}{254}14:00:53|13.09.2004
    {254}{284}14:00:54|13.09.2004
    {284}{306}14:00:55|13.09.2004

    Anything else I can do to fix it ?

    Thanks.
