  1. Hi i have just backed up my Star wars dvds, i used DVD Decrypter to save the films to my hard drive and then DVD Shrink to burn them to DVD. I did all 5 films exactly the same but for some reason 2 of these films do not play back properly.

When i watch the dvd in my dvd player it is fine all up until the last 10 - 15 minutes of the film where it goes really jumpy. So i tried playing it in my dvd rom on my pc and it doesnt play at all only the menu comes up but the film doesnt play.

Why is this and how can i correct this? I really want to watch the films god dammit haha.

    cheers!

Contradition in terms there, high quality and Ritek.... Try some proper high quality media.

  5. yeah but that still doesnt answer why 2 out of the 5 discs dont work, they are all the same type of disc and they were all burnt exactly the same way as eachother

The last part of the DVD is burnt to the very edges of the disk. Any imperfections in the dye will be at the very outside edges of the disk. I used to use Ritek G04 disks without any problems. Then the quality went downhill and only two out of every three were any good, the others failed. This was out of the same pack. Since then I've tried Ritek G05 (better but still not reliable enough for anything important), CMC (crap), MCC (very good) and Taiyo Yuden (positive proof that you get what you pay for).
