  1. I am using Media Studio 6.5 Pro, with DVD plug in.

I create a SVCD file, open plug in, go through all steps with no problems.

Clic on create SVCD, and it goes fine until almost the very end, than a warnig sign pops up and says

    Ulead DVD plug in
    " ! Drive is not ready "

    What could that be?

  2. Ronaldo, I assume when you say "it goes until almost the very end" that your cd burner is burning the disk and the led is flashing on the front of your cd burner. If yes, is your cd burner in the supported cd burner list at ulead.com. Does your cd burner support burn-proof and do you have it checked on? If your cd burner does not support burn proof do you have other applications running that are using system resources and causing a buffer under flow?

  3. Lamont,

    Thanks for your reply.

    My equipament:

    P III 750, Win 98 SE, 768 RAM, 30 gb HD

    HP CD Writer Plus 8200i

    Matrox RT 2000

I create my DV files on Premiere 6.0, convert it with TMPEG's SVCD template.

Import SVCD file into Ulead MS 6.5, and open DVD plug in with no problems. DVD factory recognizes SVCD file as such with all detailed info.

When I said "it goes until almost the very end", I really meant to that the 2 blueish colored bars were almost completely to the right, showing that both 1) burner accepted by Ulead and 2) it went fine until almost the end.

Apparently my burner does not support Burn-proof, as it is greyed out.

As for other applications, I have installed Adaptec 4.0 and Nero 5.518.

I have created SVCD with Nero, but it will not play on stand alones - I have tried many different brands.

I have even questioned on this board Zoning problems, as I live in Brazil - Zone 4 - in the U.S. Zone 1. But I was told SVCD's do not have zoning....they say it is only for DVD's.

I am trying Ulead's DVD because Nero is not working.

Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me.

  4. The programs I was referring to were those running while you were burning the SVCD. Try burning at 1x or 2x.

If my memory serves me right, you can't not have Adaptec and Nero installed at the same time. Check at the Nero web site.

SVCDs do not play on 'most' stand alone DVD players. To find out which DVD players will play SVCDs etc. look under the DVD Player Tab at the left of this screen.

I had the same problem and my solution was to select the alternate burning program within the plugin. I forget what the default is called (ULEAD something) but change it to NTI. After that, it has never failed again.

  6. Lamont and EricB,

Understood, I will try 1x, 2x, and NTI.

I will also try un-installing Adaptec and Nero.

As for stand alones, yes, I have checked the list.

    Thanks.

  7. Ronaldo, Eric is on the mark with the NTI driver. The latest DVD plug-in patch gave you a choice in burner drivers with the default being Ulead.

  8. Lamont and Eric,

Here is what I have done:

    I uninstalled Nero and Adaptec.

Now, when I open DVD plug in, on step
    "Determine Output Options Settings"

    "CD Recorder"
    "Drive"

    It reads "No driver selected"

Meaning, it is not even reading HP CD Writer 8200i.

    Go figure....

    I will now uninstalling everything.

But I have not found NTI driver Eric mentioned.

    Where do I find it?

    Thanks

  9. Ronaldo you are on the correct page "Determine Output Options Settings". If you scroll down Drive where it currently says No Diver Selected you should find two other drivers for the Hp 8200. At the end of the title of each driver you should find (Ulead) on one and (NTI) on the other. Pick the (NTI).

  10. Lamont,

I was scrolling down, but no choices available!

I re installed Nero, and voila! All choices are back.

Those f... at Nero do not want you to un install their product, so they make it you cannot use someonelses software - they should be sued for that.

Just to double check, I un installed Nero again - and yes, options at Ulead DVD were gone again.

    So I have installed Nero.

If anyone reading this knows how to get rid of this Nero problem, let me know - I would love to delete this software from my Hard Disk.

I will run all tests now.

    Thanks again,

    Ronaldo

  11. Ronaldo, I can remove Nero and it does not effect the DVD plug-in drive choices.

  12. Lamont,

Triple checking it - I un install Nero, drive choices are not there.

    Go figure...

I'll start burning now. Will let know results.

    Thanks.
