  1. I've run into an audio problem with Nero all of a sudden. My problem is after i have encoded my avi files to dvd, i burn it with Nero 6.6 and when i play it back on a stand alone dvd player there is no sound just the picture. i tried it on three different different dvd players and they all have no sound.

I've burned about four copies and they all have no sound, but they play perfectly when i play them on my dvd-rom drive. I've been doing the same thing for a while now and this had never happened until now. Would someone be able to help me out? why is there no audio when i play the dvd on a standalone dvd player?

    thanks.

Well I would guess it would be a odd coincedence but...... if your encoding the videos using mpeg audio and live in NTSC land it's possible that all 3 standalones are not compatible with mpeg audio. There's a lot of NTSC players that won't play mpeg audio. Use AC3(dolby digital) if possible or PCM to remain compliant for NTSC players.

Or your audio does not meet DVD spec.
